3RD SESSION OF THE UN GROUP OF EXPERTS ON GEOGRAPHICAL NAMES IN NEW YORK

On May 1-5, the 3rd session of the UN Group of Experts on Geographical Names will be held in New York, USA. During the session specialists and representatives from different countries have the opportunity to present the current situation of geographical names management, adjustment and standardization, current global challenges and to find the best solutions to face them through the exchange of advanced experience and knowledge.

The representatives of 98 member states and 2 observer countries, as well as intergovernmental and private organizations are attended to the session.

Aram Gugarats, the deputy head of the committee, and Kima Vagharshakyan, the chief specialist of the Foreign Relations Department, are presenting the RA Cadastre Committee.

The Armenian delegation will present a report on the topic of "National standardization process of the RA geographical names ", which will present the reforms implemented in recent year.

Representatives of other countries, as well as international organizations, will also make reports on agenda issues. Sessions of the UN Expert Group on Geographical Names are held every two years.
